The Hornets Nest Lodge, is a brand new lodge that sleeps 14, built in 2018 fondly Named in honor of our grandfather Harvey J Potvin, who was a UP woodsman for over 80 years. This beautiful lodge is nestled in the quiet serene woods near the Hiawatha National Forest. If you are looking to get away as a family, a ATV/Snowmobile enthusiast, a group gathered together to get their hunt on, or friends looking to spend some quality time in the peaceful Upper Peninsula, then this lodge is exactly what your looking for.
The Hornets Nest Lodge is centrally located in the Upper Peninsula. Its location puts you only a 10 minute drive to Lake Michigan, or a 45 minute drive to Lake Superior. We are 6 miles north of Rapid River Michigan, a small town located at the mouth of the Whitefish River on highway US-2, 16 miles east of Escanaba, by little Bay de Noc in Lake Michigan. The Hiawatha National Forest is just east of town, (right by our lodge) where you will find hundred of thousands of acres of public land for fishing, hunting, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, horseback riding, wild life watching, photography, ATVing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing and snowmobiling.
The Lodge is approximately 3000 square feet of living space, decorated with a modern rustic theme. All furniture, cookware, beds/bedding linens are all brand new. Also the lodge features over 2000 sq feet of patio and deck, to sit out side and enjoy the peaceful afternoons watching the wildlife of the area, or sitting out and taking in the "Big Sky" at night.
